About

Erin and Deacon Heideman came home to run the family farm in 2012, renaming it Blown Away Ranch. There they harvest wheat, wind, and wild boys!  When the family chose to build a new home on the ranch, they knew they didn't want neighbors in the century old farmhouse they were currently living in - so they opted to turn the place into an Airbnb. Dubbed "The Hen House", it has been nearly booked out completely since it opened 3 years ago. Meeting new people and providing a little agricultural education to the visitors, has been a true joy to the Heideman family. The opportunity to offer dry-camping through Harvest Host for RVer's was a natural fit as well. With the addition of the dry camping, Erin's greenhouse was renovated into a "mercantile" where she was able to start grinding and packaging her own wheat! This endeavor peaked Erin's interest in doing more and more flour, and it is now being marketed beyond her little mercantile. Erin is the agricultural, science, and technology instructor at Ione High School. She also serves as their FFA Advisor and is on the Oregon Wheat League Executive Board. Erin hopes to pursue her flour sales more in-depth as time allows.

Additionally, the family has just finished renovating an old shop into a barn venue called "Hansell Haven". They hope to host not only weddings and other special events, but also utilize this facility as a place to offer agricultural education opportunities.
